There are thousands of popular artists out there today making new singles all the time. With the increase of bedroom producers though, the ability to simply download a whole studio that you can use right on your lap has made original songs more scarce. Now it seems that you're finding tens of thousands of remixes by artists with more and more ludicrous names, leaving you wondering, "Transexual Viking Sword Bro- what???" This weekly segment will bring you the popular remixes and the never heard of "Transexual Viking Sword Brothers" remixes of a (common) artist's singles. From all these bedroom producers we are seeing one thing, and that is absolutely fantastic, manipulated, warped remixes.
You are now about to embark on a three-week session of Kanye West remixes. For the next three weeks I will feature Kanye West's albums accordingly in three segments. The first, which you are about to experience, features his albums "The College Dropout" & "Late Registration" as well as some extra songs that he's featured in. This idea has been brewing for quite some time and is now put into action. Get excited for the next 2 weeks to come.
Kanye West is a famou– "Yo Dranoel, I'm really happy for you, and I'm let you finish. But Suicide Sundaes is one of the best weekly segments of all time. Of All Time!" –ElectBlake
But that's not all. This feature is currently being sponsored by JackThreads, a members-only clothing deal site. POPULAR REMIXES
There are two remixes that really stuck out to me as the "Popular Remixes." Only the A-Trak remix was really popular on a wide scale. The High Contrast remix was also pretty popular but nothing crazy big. I'm sure if you follow the UFK Dubstep scene you would have heard it before. I personally think both remixes are alright, nothing too crazy that stands out to me on either one. Highlights on the A-Trak remix regardless.
ELECTRO REMIXES
A lot of Electro remixes this week to feed all your trash heads. Screw complex remixes with different levels and several meanings, screw chill-out remixes that are much too relaxed. Screw popular remixes with that pop sound that's become too popular. Give me the real thrash and tear, the stuff that's going to make my ears bleed! The sound that takes a chainsaw to my eardrum. Luckily, that's what most of you come here for anyways! Hopefully I can satisfy your violent addiction. Highlights on Galactik Knights remix.
DUBSTEP REMIXES
Now I know last week in the comments, I promised an abundance of thrashy Skrillex type dubstep (because that's all you junkies ever want). Unfortunately, this week is lacking on dubstep, I know, I know. Hopefully you can keep calm until next week. Oh there will be dubstep next week. There will be a rain of drops, womps, and dinosaurs, hopefully these few but good tracks can keep your thirst satisfied until then. Highlights on Adventure Club's remix.
DRUM AND BASS REMIXES
Now bear with me on this one, they are very fast pace remixes so I thought drum and bass was an appropriate title. They definitely have a fast BPM. Also who cares what title they're under, they're still good remixes regardless. Highlights on the Diplo remix.
DISCO REMIXES
These remixes are your softer synth electro remixes with almost some funk in the mix. The more upbeat remixes that have some spunk in that funk. A lot more relaxed and mellow but still not at the element of chill. So groove to these tunes and highlights on Big Jack's remix.
DOWNTEMPO JAZZ REMIXES
Downtempo jazz remixes is the perfect title for the remixes below. This is your usual "Chill Out Remixes" but downtempo jazz sums the essence of these remixes up so much more rightfully. Fulled with smooth beats, relaxed tunes and a gentle pace, sit back and snap your fingers to these tracks… Highlights on the Danktra remix.
MASHUPS
Now I wouldn't usually put mashups in "Artist Remixed" because mashups aren't really a remix, but popular demand overcame so I decided to add some mashups. To be honest, I am really happy I did, the mashups in this post really impressed me. I'm not usually a big fan of mashups, occasionally finding a couple from time to time, but the mashups this week were really good. Highlights on Joneses mashup. Most of the mashups are really relaxed and peaceful to listen too.
OVERALL FAVOURITE REMIX (SORT OF)
I know, it's technically cheating since my "Overall favourite remix" this week is not a remix but a mashup but like I said, the mashups this week really impressed me. Especially this remix of Zeds Dead's "White Satin" and"Jesus Walks". The two go so well hand in hand together. I also love that Garebear doesn't just take the dubstep from "White Satin" and use it just as it was, but also adds warped and distorted Kanye vocals throughout it. The whole mashup is insane. Also that first drop = bone chilling. Great work.
