2015, was a good great year for The Chainsmokers. Last year they made their television debut on the Late Late Show With James Corden, followed it up with a performance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, traveled the world, joined Bieber's friendtourage, achieved the number one dance hit with "Roses," climbed to number six on Billboard's hot 100, made a track with Tiësto, and got a cute ass dog named Cheddar. After a long wait fans can finally enjoy their first official release of 2016 "Don't Let Me Down," featuring vocals from the insanely talented 17-year-old singer Daya. The duo have found their stride with pop structured songs featuring powerful vocals and this track is a perfect indicator. Guitar strums and a light synth bed lead the song in allowing the opportunity to spotlight Daya's verse. The percussions begins to slowly crescendo, claps and snare hits shortly follow before the chorus explodes into a club/trap vibe quickly and effortlessly floating back to the second verse. Horns croon and sway in the bridge and the whole composition combines to create this captivating, compelling single that is a worthy predecessor to the wild success of "Roses."
