There are things in this world that are nestled away in the confines of it's own local success, allowing it to thrive off the menial praise it receives. These best keep secrets are sometimes better left untouched, not having outside forces influence what makes it such a great gem. One of those best-kept secrets is the long running artist Jonny Polonsky, who was discovered by Frank Black of The Pixies, who he later went on a 12-week tour opening for. He was signed by supermench Rick Rubin and released his album Hi My Name Is Jonny, which received critical acclaim. If that wasn't enough, he has also collaborated with greats like Johnny Cash, Neil Diamond, Donovan, and Pete Yorn.
Today EARMILK has the honor to premiere one of his new songs, "Lay Down Your Arms
off his forthcoming album The Other Side OfMidnight, out tomorrow. It's a haunting and driving mix of distorted guitar strums, gritty brooding vocals and a haunting atmospheric that is both melodic and mysterious. With such a prestigious background, we are insanely excited for this new album. Listen to the track below and grab the full album when it is released tomorrow.
