North West indie quartet Movin’ On share confident yet reflective single " How We Used To," channelling sincere songwriting and catchy indie energy amidst a nostalgic mood. Led by raw live soundscapes underpinned by craft impactful, relatable lyricism, the track dives into forgetting the bad times with a certain person in your life and reflecting on the nostalgia of the good times.
Rooted in shimmering vocal lines upon textured guitars, the intimate track brims with a sense of honesty and relatability. Speaking of the track, the band says, “I wrote the song between my second and third year at university in Manchester reflecting on the past year and things that had happened. You know you're better off without the person but you still remember the good times and there's that part of you that wonders 'if you play pretend' it'll all be alright.”
Encapsulating fond memories of good times amidst the lows of your life, the track is led by emotive undertones and raw sincerity, channelling nostalgia, escapism and the constant push forward.
Having begun as a solo project of singer and guitarist Elijah Jenkins, the band has evolved into a powerful indie four-piece that strikes an intricate balance between anthemic musicality and thoughtful songwriting as they continue to cement their place among the North West’s emerging indie acts.
