NOTE is an experimental rapper, songwriter, producer, and vocalist based out of Cleveland, Ohio (who has recently re-located to San Diego). Inspired by the spacey G-funk grooves of the 90s and the smooth experimentation of sound of the 70s and 80s, NOTE has managed to establish a whole new sub-genre of music dubbed "Space-Age Gangsta Shit"which is a sound that can be best described as "riding through the Milky Way on the crushed velvet backseat of an old school Monte Carlo".
He released his excellent Always Sunny in Cleveland EP back in 2008 on Dark City Records to wide acclaim. Now he is readying for debut of his newest project, the Love & Indifference LP, which is set to be released on Proximal Records. The first single off of the project is a super smooth collaboration with LA synth-soul producer Benedek entitled "Transitions".
It is a soulful banger that has NOTE displaying some of his street knowledge over a silky smooth G-Funk instrumental that is complimented by some sublime synth work courtesy of Benedek. This a combination that works through and through and is hopefully a strong indication how the rest of the project will sound like.
