The English pop rock band The Wombats have been together since 2003 and all the while they have continued to gain momentum, expanding their reach. With their third studio album Glitterbug due out soon, (April 6 in the UK April 7 in the US) they are poised to make a big impression on an even larger scale. In prepping for the LP release, The Wombat's newest single, "Greek Tragedy" has since been supported with a music video and has also been remixed.
Meanwhile, everyone's favorite Pompeian quartet Bastille have been at the top of the world since the release of their debut album Bad Blood in March of 2013. With everyone eagerly awaiting the release of a follow up studio album, until then we have EPs and mixtapes to hold us over. Coming off of remixing Imagine Dragon's "I Bet My Life" a week ago, we bring you Bastille's remix of The Wombat's "Greek Tragedy".
Immediately in the Bastille remix of "Greek Tragedy" you will notice a pacing difference from the original, where the former opts for more a grounded, almost hushed approach. While The Wombat's original song is filled with catchy hooks and flashy instrumental chime-ins, the remix seems to pull the most out of the emotional vocal drive. Fully supporting fade-outs with both backing instrumentals and accompanying vocals, The Bastille remix of "Greek Tragedy" stands alone as a highlight track.
