When I interviewed TBMA last summer, I got the impression that they were on the verge of bigger things, namely making the move from Boston to LA in order to advance their careers. It’s a strategic choice and will allow them to work more closely with the big names, Skrillex for one, who frequently samples their music. We had quite the discussion about the value of Dropbox on the beach that day. And even before the move we have a remix of top charting EDM trio Adventure Club’s “Gold" ft. Yuna on the roster. The duo has reworked the track in their signature bassy style but I found it to be a little mellower than their usual output in order to adequately represent the Adventure Club original. TBMA traditionally makes hard and fast dance music but this remix shows a softer side to their craft and as was said they just “Had to take a crack at remixing it.”
