Stop the press, UK Grime music is back in full force! The sound that defined the streets of London from the early 2000's onwards has been lacking in recent years, and although Grime emcee's were still making those murky street tracks that were so big in the early noughties, it just didn't have the same essence that was required to win over fans of the earlier days. In fact, the scene saw a few of it's biggest names take on the 'mainstream', as the likes of Skepta and Wiley took the pop charts by storms with hits such as "Heatwave" and "Amensia".
Just when we thought we'd lost the OG's of Grime music to the mainstream crowd, we were gratefully relieved when Skepta dropped his banger "That's Not Me", complete with nostalgic looking visuals. If Skepta going back to his roots wasn't good enough, this week we've been treated to a new joint from the legendary emcee Wiley, in the shape of "On A Level". Backed by an eski-sounding beat, Wiley shows that he's not lost any of his sharpness when it comes to Grime, as he cuts his way through the instrumental with ease, showing his lyrical prowess is still there. The Skepta directed visuals see Wiley mobbin' in front of his house with the rest of his Boy Better Know affiliates, as he spits that fire much to the delight of everyone else.
