It's been a lyrical Summer as hip-hop is transitioning into a much more indie/psychological style. There have been a serious surge of expressive emcees, and let me tell you: I LOVE IT. Nothing gets me going like a good bar to give you goosebumps.
I first mentioned My Monday Morning Music back in May, when the flowers were blooming and the hip-hop was turning. Today, the boys of STL GLD (Moe Pope & The Arcitype) are set out on a brand new path debuting MMMM with sample free style. The album features guest appearances from a breadth of notable artists spanning many genres including *Dua Boakye* (Bad Rabbits), Reks, Ruste Juxx, Jake Mehrmann and Chris Klaxton (Tan Vampires), Dutch Rebelle, John Robinson & more. If you have that many collaborators, you're bound for glory.
Alongside the album drop come visuals for "Again", capturing the essence of a modern-day A Tribe Called Quest, which is super bad ass. The official release date was august 12 via AR Classic Records / Brick Records.
With smooth textured synths, and riding rhythmic drums, The Arcitype is the perfect man for a relaxing hip-hop tape. In addition, Boston's finest Moe Pope lays down verses throughout the tape that leave a distinguishing taste for what the duo serves up. By the end of it, you'll know exactly who they are.
