Buckle up, kids. We have a premiere on our hands. There are few things that bring me greater joy than premiering stellar, brand-spanking-new tunes. Today, in that regard, you and I should both count ourselves lucky, friend: not only do I have the privilege of sharing this new Trap jam; you have the pleasure of listening to it. California Electronic/Bass duo TastyTreat, comprised of San Luis Obispo natives, John Smith and Devin Hardy, has a rare understanding of organic sound for a group with heavy EDM sensibilities. There are nods to Hip-Hop and classic R&B in their style as well as modern R&B and Ambient, but they're still ready and willing to amp up the BPM to maintain a steady pulse. Here at EARMILK we're debuting the duo's latest record, "Nobody Else," a summery, seasonal anthem that is sure to bring in the warmer weather and all the fun that comes with it.
"Nobody Else" is an high octane adrenaline rush equipped with spacey wave synths, clattering snare drums, and groovy bass drops. Hand claps guide you directly into a retro beat break that drives right through shimmering chime syths on its way smack into one breakdown after the next. Hi hats click decoratively on the fringes of dizzying sonics and the duo seamlessly incorporates a high speed chop of Abrina's "Blowin" featuring Jeremih into the fray. "I can't wait for you to get home / Bags packed, boy / We about to get gone," she chirps almost in a squeak, and it adds a little something extra to the record. Needless to say, this is going to be one that'll get more than a few spins at your next pool party.
Stream the EARMILK exclusive "Nobody Else" from talented Cali duo, TastyTreat, and stay tuned for more spectacular music from the Bass tag-team soon. Also, be sure to check on TastyTreat at the Avila Beach Party with Nervo, Friday, May 23rd. Get tickets here. Enjoy!
