Murkage have a run in with "Officer Parker" on brand new single

When Manchester based outfit Murkage released "La Plage" (which you can download for FREE), the first single from their forthcoming album Of Mystics & Misfits, I heralded that moment as the time when UK music got a much needed shot in the arm. The hip hop roots blended in with a punk rock energy made for a unique sound that I hadn't really come across before.

Now, as they start working towards announcing a release date for the album, the Murkage boys took to the airwaves in the UK again, on Radio 1, to premiere the second single from their album "Officer Parker". Daniel P Carter, who was filling in for regular music guru Zane Lowe, was the man with the task of premiering the track, and when it was finally played, the reception was outstanding.

The track starts off with Murkage Dave surprising many people with his calm and soothing singing voice, before Gaika comes in on the drop and delivers a wild and rowdy hook that heralds back to the grime days when Wiley reigned supreme. "Officer Parker" lyrically picks up on some underlying issues within the UK at the moment, including police brutality, making this not just a jumped up banger, but also a song with a serious message.

You can stream "Officer Parker" below, and be sure to check Murkage's website for their upcoming tour dates, including dates in France and the UK. Their album Of Mystics & Misfits is due out within the next few months, so keep your eyes and ears locked onto EARMILK for all the latest news!
