UK based artist Daktyl, a classically trained pianist turned electronic production wiz, has released his newest EP, Chase Road . It's hard to put your finger on a single genre when describing this 3-track collection that ranges through the spheres of hip hop, funk and garage sounds, but it's easy to tell that Daktyl is good at his craft. The EP is short but doesn't pretend to be sweet. Sexy, sensual, and exotic are all running themes in Chase Road and it's easy to see why Daktyl has been on the rise since 2013, having shared the stage at Nottingham's Stealth festival with artists like XXYXX, Lunice and Baauer. By taking a listen to Chase Road, you'll be able to tell that 2014 has started off in a similarly impressive fashion for the producer, and we hope the rest of the year brings more of the same versatility and style that you hear below.

This song is basically the soundtrack of a cool, tropical daydream. Picture yourself lounging on outdoor patio somewhere, drink in hand, the coastline of some island destination ahead of you and behind you, a lush rainforest. The sun is setting and the evening seems to be winding down. But just before you think everything will be settled for the night, the music starts to pick up, guests start arriving, and before you know it your on your feet dancing the night the night away in the midst of this tropical paradise. Things end up where they began and you return the laid-back, jazzy soul infused setting from which you started.

Continuing to play with a tropical sound, "Feel The Way I Feel" is a sharp dance tune, groovy and smooth enough to be included in a Zimmer mixtape. While it has the perfect level of mysterious reserve, the track is still dynamic enough to keep things interesting. A pulsing beat, soothing chords, and an alluring vocal sample combine on a canvas of build ups and sonic detailing. This is a track made for you, your significant other, and a dimly lit dance floor.
"Do Without"

Definitely the funkiest one of the bunch, "Do Without" shakes things up, stops and and starts, and hits on more than a few musical styles. The track is a wild ride full of detailing and overlaid with a short vocal clip full that's full of a lot of soul and a little bit of cheekiness. Hitting you hard with the grooves, it's definitely the best way to close out this 3-track EP with a bang.
