Storm Queen

When a house track manages to climb its way up the mainstream charts, unseeding the likes of Eminem and Rihanna, the entire music world seems to take notice. If it comes from the underground, even more eyebrows are raised. It’s no secret that MK’s remix of Storm Queen’s “Look Right Through” has been a chart-topper in dance circles for months now, dominating the Ibiza season and still sounding fresh almost a year after its original release. Since then, producers of a variety of styles have taken their shot at remixing the original, including Aeroplane, Jamie Jones, and Art Department, but nothing has proved as lasting as the groove of MK’s version.

Thanks to Annie Mac’s weekly Free Music Monday feature, we’ve got another version to share via Bristol duo GotSome. Their VIP keeps the vocal chops of what made MK’s remix so bouncy, but the addition of a banging garage beat makes this one an instant party starter. While it may be heavier than listeners expect from this track, the free download is a perfect thank you to fans who have helped him achieve a #1 – a feat certainly worth celebration.
