Easing up on the funky and pop driven style of the original, Shlohmo sticks to what he does best, airing out Haerts' "Wings" in an eclectic, downtempo fashion. Much like a pair of washed out jeans, Shlohmo's remix reminds of the color that once existed in the original, where the wear and tear comes across in the reaching soundscape remnants that elude to the more vibrant predecessor of what it once was. This is not to say that Shlohmo's reworking is unraveling at the seams per say, as the track draws energy through lush experimental tones and splashes, however as the song progresses the cloth tears, revealing a layer of thick flesh that shines through.

Because it is not often enough that Henry Laufer (Shlohmo) lends his attention to tracks, the remix cannot be taken for granted as the most rewarding experience comes from repeated listens in different states of mind. This is a common occurrence in Laufer's work, which has recently consisted of reworkings of a Laura Mvula and Electric Guest tracks as well as an original Jeremih collaboration. One thing is for certain, when/if Laufer drops his third full length we'll be in for a treat.
