Suicide Sundaes – stop your grinnin' and drop your linen. Every Sunday electblake of Earmilk will bring you the weeks dirty servings, and some old favorites through a throwdown-throwback to simpler times. A time when bangers were big, remixes were bigger, the bassline bled, and we didn't care about anything as long as came in kicking and left screaming. To hell with sketchy Sunday, we want to shove another dragon down the hole.
Weekend treat you well? I kept mine pretty low key – been working on Earmilk and some other projects and just felt the need to unplug a bit these days – ya know?
Thankfully, I still managed to dig down deep and dig up some angst to put together your weekly aggro expulsion of electro & house basslines.
As always we open this weeks set like any other – light and easy.
Lost Valentinos manage to get Metal on Metal do do a remix that doesn't make you want to bite through a tin can at 150 mph with your eyes closed – its actually smooth and some classic electropop remixing, contrasted to their normal well… metal on metal screeching red hot remixes.
Vodka & Milk brings some Chromeo in a pretty standard-yet-amped-ready-for-your-set sort of remix.
What I really want to talk about is Pendulum releasing "Islands" and Skrillex. We start on the prog-synth-pophouse act Pendulum's latest release Island which saw some house heavyweights and a the comebacker coming through the lines – Tiesto.
Skrillex is on the other side of the spectrum. He's young, able, and using a pseudonym of an old AIM handle to produce some pretty exciting dubstep and electro – I've intermingled much of his work into this weeks set – enjoy it.
be sure to checkout Poland's Kamp! – It's very much a Cut Copy sort of deal and well – I just discovered them and I'm surprised they haven't done much for awhile now – I bet they got picked up and are learning the major label ways (a major absence from an act that is amazing usually means that)
Anyway – I don't want to keep you – lets get into it:
