A soft Spanish slow-ballad track expressing love and happiness to a former lover is what Arizona native singer Fabio Capri sings in his latest track “Baile.”
The 23-year-old artist, who is the older brother of regional Mexican singer Xavi, lets go of an ex-partner but shows appreciation for the relationship by wishing them well, while still feeling confident they will never find another lover like him.
Capri begins the track with lyrics, “Sé que no te hago falta. Mi remplazo ya llegó. Sé que ese wey no te hace llorar así como lo hice yo.” He recognizes his toxic habits and acknowledges this person deserves better.
“Te encontrases un bato que te lleve al baile, nunca tuve ritmo. Que no sea tóxico y que te reclame,” he sings accompanied by the piano and string instruments.
Instead of being alone, Capri is more worried about sharing love with another person again. He asks himself if this past partner still thinks about him the same way he does.
“De cero empezar con otra, la neta no es pa mi. . . quiero lo mejor pa' ti, lo que no supe darte. Lo que no tuviste conmigo,” he adds. The track will have the listener reflect on past relationships and possibly think about a person they regret losing. In the music video, Capri dressed in all black, is seen playing the piano while a mysterious woman, most likely who the song is for, watches quietly from the shadows.
