Rising folk talent Stella Prince delivers a modern reinterpretation of Buffalo Springfield's "For What It's Worth," with a resonant message on social unrest.
Built on lilting, crisp vocals and intimate delivery, the track is timeless as it dives into the emotional climate within the United States today. Originally inspired by the Sunset Strip riots in Los Angeles in the 1960s, the song remains relevant even in today's world, as Prince weaves her signature folk musicality underscored by indie flair.
Speaking of the track, she says, “I wanted to record my own version of For What It’s Worth because I truly believe it is the most timely song for 2026. “It resonates not only with me, but everyone in my generation – Gen Z- as a wake up call to where we are in these wild times. It’s as relevant now as it was in 1966. And recording it in Laurel Canyon 60 years after its original release made it all the more full circle."
A raw, authentic showcase of her melodic and poignant artistry, the track establishes Prince's ability to re-shape iconic offerings with her own youthful talent and charm. With a London residency and her debut album to come, Stella Prince continues to establish herself as an act to keep on your radar.
