LA-based indie pop artist Dani Stocksdale has released her new single, “Cigarette Rush”.
Making a name for herself with her sharp lyrical storytelling and dreamy production, Dani Stocksdale has created a completely heartbreaking atmosphere with “Cigarette Rush”, utilising its pulsing instrumentals and soft, breathy vocals to great effect.
“Cigarette Rush” sees Dani Stocksdale sing about how she’ll “never be that for you”, discussing the titular cigarette rush, and pondering why it’s hard to stop wanting someone who will never love you back in the same way, or the particular way that you need them to. The track is intensely longing, and explicitly based on Dani Stocksdale’s personal experience falling for someone when she first moved to LA.
Dani Stocksdale is someone to watch for sure.
