South UK art-rock quintet Divorce Attorney unveil striking debut EP Always Something, bringing dark sonics, emotive delivery and poetic lyricism together in a brooding yet cathartic musical experience. Led by bubbling yet edgy live instrumentals, the EP captures the band's signature blend of alt-rock , shoegaze and post-punk.
With sharpness polished by psychedelic flourishes and vibrant dynamics, the project taps into a nostalgic vibe and gothic aesthetic spanning the soaring, hypnotic touches of "Got Lost," to the booming basslines of groovy offering "Blind Eye," and the rhythmic but haunting sensibilities of closer "Eulogy."
Inventive and layered, the EP encapsulates sonic versatility across four impactful tracks. Speaking of the EP, frontman and rhythm guitarist Nathan Key says, “A lot of the influences into the EP were 80’s to Noughties goth and post-punk and from that one of the principles going into the project was to make something still in line with the gothic aesthetic, but also danceable so people at our shows can engage in a way they want to receive the music.”
Making a name for themselves as a live band touring across the UK, Divorce Attorney have continue to carve out a distinct space for themselves as they build momentum towards the release of more affecting soundscapes.
