Poetic songwriter Mark William Lewis has unveiled "Skeletons Coupling," the first single from his forthcoming album, set to be released this September. The track arrives alongside the announcement of an international tour, with backing from A24’s newly launched record label.
Described as someone who “lives between the cracks,” Lewis crafts music that is introspective, undefinable, and deeply evocative. "Skeletons Coupling" blends weeping guitar lines with melancholic electronics and a wistful harmonica, conjuring a mood that’s both warm and wistful, somewhere caught between the final glow of summer and the first chill of autumn.
“There’s a change of season, a change of scenery / I chase the feeling, it’s warm outside,” Lewis sings. It’s a sonic space that feels simultaneously intimate and distant, a liminal world where connection and isolation blur.
His sound recalls the brooding atmospheres of King Krule, the vulnerability of Puma Blue, and the experimental leanings of Chanel Beads, yet remains wholly his own. "Skeletons Coupling" is haunting, soothing, and captivating, a bold introduction to a singular talent carving out an ambiguous space in modern music and inviting listeners to drift with him.
