Composer, musician, songwriter, profesor and more Cory Cullinan has tapped acclaimed singer-songwriter Riley Max and celebrated creative director and producer Sidney Cullinan to create the experimental musical and visual experience "2025 Alive".
With "2025 Alive", the trio craft a whirlwind emotional and sonic contemplation on living in the modern world. 2025 is particularly crazy with all the political, social and environmental events and "2025 Alive" explores the emotional upheaval many of us are experiencing. Riley Max sings one word throughout the release "Test". Cory shares the inspiration, "Whether current events are testing your resolve in a culture you loved, or you support those who are testing just how far we can break or reform our norms, this premise is apropos of what you are experiencing in 2025. We hope you find our work meaningful in this amazing and overwhelming year to be alive." Musically, "2025 Alive" begins with a drone sound that soon ushers in gentle mood-drenched vocals over vibrant and lush synthesizers. In a little over 8 minutes, the song goes from ambient minimalism to lush and cinematic, mirroring the variety of emotions we experience on a daily basis. The visual experience shows a mix of humanity experiencing imagination, distress, hope, and triumph intercutting with scenes of political destruction. "2025 Alive" is a wild, important and a deeply evocative release. The experience is like nothing we have seen or heard before!
