Amsterdam-based techno innovator VNTM has released Open Source 12, the closing installment of his celebrated 'Open Source' project, out now via Open Source. The five-track EP serves as both a finale and a comprehensive showcase of the artist's sonic evolution throughout the series.

Lead track "Trickle" sets the tone with sci-fi-influenced techno that pays homage to nightlife's raw energy, crafting a pristine yet nostalgic journey through electronic soundscapes. "The Rush" follows with a darker, hypnotic approach to dancefloor euphoria, recontextualizing vitality through obscure and gracefully mesmerizing production.

"Intuition" brings a notable shift in direction, featuring a distinctive melody that VNTM admits challenged his creative boundaries. "I often questioned whether it was too this or too that," VNTM shares. "Embracing the fact that it features a unique melody that doesn't quite fit into any specific category led to an internal confrontation I had to face. The outcome reflects 100% of me and my signature sound."

The EP continues with "Hemisphere," which marks a departure from VNTM's usual productions while maintaining its high production standards. Its experimental approach embraces unexpected joy while building anticipation. The collection concludes with "Break of Dawn," a track that balances emotional peaks with darker elements to create an immersive final statement.

The release represents VNTM's commitment to pushing boundaries within techno while maintaining the storytelling approach that has made him a compelling force in contemporary electronic music. His unique take on techno and progressive melodies has earned him spots at major events including Afterlife, Awakenings, Tomorrowland, and his own Mindscape Showcase. At the same time, his releases have found homes on prestigious labels like Afterlife, DAYS like NIGHTS, and Second State.

Open Source 12 arrives as a fitting conclusion to a project that has showcased VNTM's range and depth as a producer. "To conclude this first Open Source project, I wanted to create an EP that showcases the full spectrum of the project," VNTM explains. "These five tracks represent the depths of my live set and the range I use when performing on stage."
