about-faces capture the wild spirit of youth in ‘Too Old For Fun’

about-faces new single, "Too Old For Fun," is a neon-soaked throwback to reckless nights and unforgettable adventures, told with a beat that refuses to slow down. It’s a jittery, emblematically heart-tugging reminder that the actual delight of life isn’t some teenage fantasy. It’s here to be chased at any age.

From its opening driving beat, "Too Old For Fun" plunges you into late-night pandemonium: fake IDs, hastily planned bus rides, clubs closing just when the real fun is getting started. The lyrics do more than describe a scene, and they rewind time. “From fake IDs and dodgy tickets for the bus, and then bus home when our clubs had shut,” sings lead vocalist Sennen Ludman, perfectly summing up that unrefined, unfiltered magic of youth. However, there’s more than memories at work here. It’s a rallying cry, a summons to continue living here today rather than just pining for times gone by.

It’s pure adrenaline, brimming with twinkling keys (Danielle Capstick), thumping basslines (Nigel Ngwenya), and a tight, rhythmically charged chemistry between drummer Joseph Schofield and guitarist Cormac Connolly. The infectious hook hits like a jolt of energy: “You gotta live in the moment, keep on going in the moment.” It’s a mantra, a dare, and a seductive reason to move.

It's electric when "Too Old For Fun" takes the stage. The audience relives it. In each performance, about-faces show that growing up isn’t the same thing as growing dull. Some nights never end. Some songs never age. And fun? You can never be too old for that.
