Long-time friends and collaborators Gregory Darling and Julian Lennon unite for their latest single, “A New Dream.” Providing an uplifting and inspiring message of hope and perseverance, the track is sure to resonate with listeners from all walks of life.
“A New Dream” was originally featured on Darling’s 2006 album, Shell, but was chosen to have new life breathed into it because of its lasting emotional resonance. Darling shares, “I wanted to put a new twist on the original production and arrangement, so I locked myself in the studio and [with] being subjected to Covid lockdown, it [just] felt appropriate. I created a new beat, replaced the strings with synths, added guitars, bass… then Ian Kelosky mixed it, giving it a fresh sound, where the vocals really pop out.”
With the addition of Lennon’s vocals and input, the new, reimagined version is an intoxicating release, laden with emotion and authenticity. Their combined musicianship results in a song that's perfectly polished, yet raw and deeply moving, capturing the message of facing our dreams, fears and insecurities.
