Los Angeles indie-electronic duo Magic Bronson talks about the rollercoaster experience of life on tour in their new single, “Show My Teeth.” A snapshot of both the adrenaline and exhaustion that come with living on the move, the single embodies the chaotic energy and simultaneous fatigue.
Michael Lieberman, one half of the duo, shares: “It can be super fun and thrilling but also fairly repetitive and exhausting. We wanted to capture that feeling of rolling from one city to another and the excitement but overall blur it can be waking up in a new city everyday and having 24 hours to experience what it has to offer before you have to hit the road again.”
The animated track illustrates the energetic and repetitive tour life through fast-paced percussion and colorful, pulsing synths. Their catchy lyrics will embed into your brain, as they chant, “Leaving here with our head in the clouds, goodnight, on to the next town.”
The duo revealed how Paul McCartney's part in The Beatles' “A Day In The Life” influenced the second verse where we hear them mindlessly ticking off a list of routine tasks in an almost robotic delivery. This amplifies the idea that while being on tour can be an incredible experience, it can also become a mechanical and monotonous movement.
Off of their upcoming album, Good Dogs, which was recorded through an app over Zoom, while each member was living in a different state, “Show My Teeth” hints at what's yet to come.
