GRAMMY-nominated producer and songwriter TAVE just unveiled his latest single and video, “Laid Back/Old Skool Chevy,” featuring acclaimed songwriter and 2025 GRAMMY nominee Kenyon Dixon. This feel-good track showcases a seamless collaboration between the two music powerhouses, serving up everything you could want and more in an R&B anthem. With timeless grooves, smooth layers of neo-soul, and their own secret sauce, TAVE and Kenyon Dixon created an irresistible blend of funky vibes so hot, it might just have you shedding a layer or two.

From the moment you press play, it's clear that TAVE has once again made another hit in “Laid Back/Old Skool Chevy”. In an instant, the song draws the listener in and immerses the senses for the full experience. TAVE and Dixon deliver a decadently smooth performance, their unique vocals blending in perfect synergy and gliding effortlessly like rich buttery velvet. Together they invite the listener in, crooning "girl, why don’t you just come a lil close to me / take a dive tonight in the troubled waters / you and I collide then we float to sea." The chill, sultry elements of the song are perfectly complemented by a steady, smooth bassline that enhances the track’s seductive undertones. TAVE’s gift for creating palpable atmospheres shines through, transporting listeners to intimate nights and leisurely rides in sexy vintage rides. The accompanying music video features both TAVE and Dixon cruising around LA in an iconic old school Chevy convertible. With effortless cool, they glide through the city soaking in the scenery and savoring the moment, embodying the carefree vibe of the track.

Born and bred in London and now residing in Los Angeles and St. Lucia, TAVE has been praised for his work not only as a musician but also as a GRAMMY nominated producer and songwriter, working with artists such as 6LACK, SiR, and Alex Isley to name a few. Breakout artist Kenyon Dixon is up for a 2025 Grammy nomination for Best Traditional R&B Performance for his hit "Can I Have This Groove". "Laid Back" is the third single from TAVE's new solo artist project following his debut single "No More Maybes" ft. Bibi Bourelly and India Shawn and "Difference Now" ft. Stacy Barthe and Runkus. With both musicians reaching incredible milestones in their careers, “Laid Back/Old Skool Chevy” will be one to remember.
