Atlanta-based emerging artist Captain Highside hones in on his funky yet sultry musicality with “Technicolor Rewind,” the focus track from upcoming LP SAGITTARIUS II, a smooth neo-soul anthem that comes alive amidst a rich tapestry of genres.
A glimpse of the experimental sound at the core of the album, which spans hip-hop, R&B and electronic music, Captain Highside taps into a vivid style that feels bold at times and laid-back at others.
Reflecting on the release of “Technicolor Rewind,” and collaboration with Marley Angel he says, "Marley created a beautiful funky, soulful, smooth vibe with amazing solo guitar and so I just took that and ran with it. The instrumental made me see all sorts of colors, so I figured why not write a song about colors? And that’s how “TECHNICOLOR REWIND” came to be. John Osborn did a great job mixing my vocals to the instrumental. From start to finish, it took about 48 hours."
The alter ego of pediatric hematologist Prashant Raghavendran, Captain Highside is a musical project that offers an cathartic escape from the day to day. With his forthcoming electro-tinged album brimming with themes of emotional intelligence and independence, this rising talent zeroes in on sonic versatility and tender messages with seamless ease.
