London producer and DJ DJames has shared a new EP, titled Grateful. James Grey, professionally known as DJames, is a UK Champion DJ, artist, producer, curator, music editor and radio host, hailing from London. With a deep-rooted passion for music spanning various genres, he carved his own lane for his electrifying DJ sets and captivating live performances over the past 17 years. His musical prowess also lies in his ability to craft immersive sonic experiences in his 3-year music production career, with studio productions characterized by a eclectic fusion of diverse sounds, ranging from Afrobeats and Dancehall to R&B and beyond. His latest offering, Grateful, is a five-track project featuring a standout line-up, with engaging contributions from Crayon, Qing Madi, 1da Banton, Shoday, and Skales. Each artist brings their unique style to the project, creating a rich blend of sounds that showcase DJames’ versatility as a producer, with a vibrant fusion of Afrobeats, Afro-pop, and dancehall sonics.
On the opening track of the EP, DJames collaborates with 1da Banton on "Shako", a seamless fusion of smooth, warm guitars and elegant, rich rhythms that sets the perfect tone for the project. The momentum carries on with the previously released "Avalay", featuring Crayon- an infectious track with vibrant instrumentation, potent grooves, and ear-worm vocal melodies. Qing Madi adds a vibrant, youthful energy to "Love Me", blending emotive Afro-pop sonics with romantic, graceful undertones. Shoday’s soulful vocals take center stage on "The Best Thing", an Afrobeats anthem filled with expressive production and heartfelt lyrics. Finally, Skales delivers a diverse performance on "What I Want", bringing the EP to an electrifying conclusion with choral elements and lively rhythms.
