Brighton quartet Canned Pineapple have announced their upcoming EP, Big Break, and released a vibrant new single, “Jessie Met Jane,” released on September 25th. Fronted by Irish vocalist Seán Drury and songwriter Oakley Gardiner, the band features guitarist Gabe Rice, drummer Charlie Pringle, and bassist Cam Freeman.
After a remarkable first half of 2024—highlighted by their international debut at the New Colossus Festival in New York City and standout performances at The Great Escape—Canned Pineapple has garnered attention and is continuing their momentum this autumn with shows in Rotterdam, Dublin, and Brussels.
Produced by Tom Rees, “Jessie Met Jane” encapsulates the band’s energetic sound, blending catchy melodies with their signature “scuzz-pop” style, characterized by fuzzy guitar tones and playful vocals. Drury explains the song's origin: inspired by a heated argument overheard during a tour stay, the band imagined a love triangle at play. The track is somewhat tongue-in-cheek, and doesn't take itself too seriously, whilst showcasing some serious prowess.
Upcoming Live Dates:
