Acclaimed singer-songwriter Will Knox returns with English Silence, his fourth album, a deeply personal exploration of fatherhood, healing, and emotional growth. Praised for its vulnerability, English Silence features 11 tracks that blend delicate acoustic strings, soft percussion, and lush harmonies, showcasing Knox's raw, autobiographical storytelling.
Written during lockdown as Knox prepared for fatherhood, the album reflects his journey of confronting past emotional challenges. Tracks like "Body Talk", co-written with Belgian artist Emma Bale, explore nonverbal communication through body language, while "Growing Pains" touches on reparenting and fatherhood. Themes of self-discovery, from navigating one’s twenties in "Twentysomething" to the slow process of healing in "Instant Coffee", resonate throughout.
Produced by Ian Grimble (Bear’s Den, Daughter), English Silence features collaborations with artists like néomí and Fin Greenall (Fink). Knox’s reputation as a songwriter and producer has also earned him accolades, including five Buma Awards and an ASCAP Award.
This autumn, Knox will tour The Netherlands as part of the Popronde festival, sharing English Silence with an eager audience.
