Indie alt-rock band Cousin Simple shares the thrill of enjoying a moment on “Head Over Heels,” the third single off their upcoming EP, Part Time Job. A catchy offering that dives into having fun in a relationship without pondering on the hard questions, the track lets escapism bleed through before reality catches up.
Building on anthemic soundscapes and vibrant rhythms with dynamic vocals, the track is a powerful and high-octane rock anthem that gets us dancing along even as an undertone of introspection shines beneath.
Speaking of the track, the band says, “I have this vivid memory of crashing my bike when I was younger and going over the handle bars. It obviously wasn’t fun, but there was a split second in between crashing and the pain that it was almost fun, like a thrill. And that’s what this song is, it’s that moment in the relationship where you’re not asking any hard questions, you’re just enjoying the moment.”
With an electrifying spirit and high energy forming the crux of their musicality, Cousin Simple grabs our attention and refuses to let it stray on their latest production.
