Ruby Topaz, a progressive glam rock band with a storied history, continues to push musical boundaries with their latest releases. Their recent album, Mark Bram / Ruby Topaz Again 23rd Anniversary Remaster and the anniversary collection Ruby Topaz Again 23rd Anniversary Remaster showcase the band's evolution while maintaining their signature sound.

Rabbit Hole is a testament to Ruby Topaz's ability to blend classic rock influences with contemporary flair. The title track, "Rabbit Hole," is a dynamic journey that mirrors the complexities of modern relationships. It starts with a haunting piano melody, gradually building into a powerful rock anthem with soaring guitar solos and intricate drum patterns. The song's lyrical content delves into themes of love, conflict, and resolution, capturing the listener's emotions with its raw intensity.

The track "Glamorous Disaster" stands out with its theatrical elements and flamboyant instrumentation. Reminiscent of David Bowie's bold style, the song features dramatic vocal delivery, lush harmonies, and a driving rhythm section. The guitar riffs are both edgy and melodic, creating a captivating contrast that keeps the listener engaged from start to finish.

Ruby Topaz Again 23rd Anniversary Remaster brings new life to the band's extensive catalog. The song "Savage Symphony" epitomizes the band’s glam rock essence. With high-energy guitar riffs, a pulsating bassline, and powerful drumming, it’s a track that demands attention. The remastered version enhances the original recording's clarity and depth, highlighting the intricate layers of instrumentation and Mark Bram's virtuosic guitar work.

Another highlight from the anniversary album is "Electric Elegy," a fusion of progressive rock and classical elements. The song features complex time signatures and a rich tapestry of sounds, including strings and synths that weave seamlessly with the rock foundation. The result is a cinematic auditory experience that showcases the band's versatility and creative prowess.

Mark Bram's description of their sound captures the essence of Ruby Topaz: "We have the glam and theatrics of Cooper and Bowie, the sophisticated rock of Queen, the power and urgency of early Zeppelin, with the melodic prowess of early Beatles." This blend is evident throughout both Rabbit Hole and the anniversary remaster, ensuring that longtime fans and new listeners alike will find much to appreciate.

With a resurgence of interest in 80s music trends, Ruby Topaz is poised to attract a new generation of fans. The band's diverse style, showcased through high-quality remasters and innovative new tracks, solidifies their place in the rock music landscape. Their presence on platforms like YouTube allows a broader audience to experience their electrifying performances and timeless sound.
