Drawing influences from Harold Pinter, George Orwell, and Ray Davies, the track's quirky charm is reminiscent of T-Rex's chord progressions and Mika's pop radiance.
Barbara's new single tells the story of a character struggling to make ends meet, a theme many can relate to. "We love songs that tell stories," the band explains, "and there's a character in 'Property-Owning Democracy' that people might recognise in themselves or others."
