Southern California based artist enigma Theo Moss has just shared her debut single. The indie rock gem is called "Autopilot" and is the first taste off of her upcoming EP. The artist, musician and songwriter teamed up with producer Gabe Wax (quinnie, Soccer Mommy, Junior Varsity) for the intoxicating musical release.
With "Autopilot", Theo Moss writes a relatable narrative. The track chronicles the experience of seeing someone you love being hurt by someone else but feeling powerless in the ability to save them. This situation unleashes a series of feelings including anger and sadness. Lyrics including, "Try again another day / Pull you out of bed / Tell you it's not your fault / Wishing I could kill the cause," show this theme. Sonically, the single begins with fuzzy guitar reverb and soon reveals itself to be an invigorating dreampop infused indie rock banger complete with hypnotic guitars and rhythmic bass. The melody is infectious yet melancholic, leaving a lasting impression that lingers after the track concludes.
Theo Moss is the exciting new project from an unknown classically trained musical artist. Finding classical to be too restrictive with her creativity, the musician looked for a fresh start moving to Los Angeles. Her music is influenced by the likes of Mazzy Star, PJ Harvey and Nirvana. Check out "Autopilot" now and tell the world you heard it first.
