London-based, Lagos, Nigeria-born singer/songwriter oShamo brings together his Nigerian musical roots with a touch of modern Afrobeats and hip-hop in his newest single "oSha-Piano." The track's title is a portmanteau of the first part of his moniker and the South African music genre Amapiano. Musically, it is inspired by fuji, hip-hop, and amapiano.
The production by Skeellz is sparse, cinematic, and bolstered by rich choral vocal arrangements, layered melodies, and easy-to-follow songwriting that introduces his style to the world. Lyrically, he seamlessly weaves English, Yoruba, and Nigerian pidgin English into his verses and peppers it with boisterous ad-libs and melodies influenced by the Fuji genre.
oShamo, who got his start on TikTok for 30-second soundbites, is now fully formed as an artist and with "oSha-Piano" as his debut offering, he is hoping to create and expand his lane as an artist.
