Homeboy Sandman and longtime collaborator Mono En Stereo recently worked together on his new project Rich II and continued their musical campaign with the single "Need A Woman."
In the same vein as Homeboy's recent releases, the multi-talented rapper approaches distinct and delicate topics with a bit of humour, a dash of sincerity, and a spoonful of unorthodox storytelling with relatable elements. Here, Sandman reflects on past ways and mindsets he had to shed to find true love.
His approach is from an older statesman mindset and knowing what he truly wants from a woman, he lets audiences in on how superficiality can hinder one's thought process and it's best to be straightforward with one's communication and that goes both ways. Overall, the track is not a dig at women but rather an interesting look at how both genders intermingle and the complexities involved like choosing signals, red flags, and other nuances.
As an album, Rich II takes a more sombre route and finds Homeboy Sandman in full introspective mode as he dives into the spectrum of human experiences and emotions.
