Calla Domine asks for unification in "Magenta"

South Carolina born and bred singer/songwriter Calla Domine has just shared her latest enthralling single. Called "Magenta", the song is the first music of the year from this country meets Americana songwriter following her 2023 releases of singles "Start Over", "Scatter Joy", and "World Around You".

"Magenta" came to life in a very unique songwriting experiment. According to the press release, the artist asked her fans to send out words to influence her writing and one that stood out and was sent was magenta. With that in mind, she began to pen a song and the first thought that came to mind and lyrics that came were "I feel like magenta, walking in a land of red and blue.” This spawned the idea of contemplation on how much divisiveness is found in our country and how we all must come together for a better future. Lyrics reflecting this theme include, "we will never agree on everything / But do we have to be so divided / I believe there is good inside every taxpayer." Musically, "Magenta" is a soulful confessional Americana song featuring folk-laden wistful acoustic guitars. The highlight of the emotive musical masterpiece is Calla's stunning vocals and her knack for composing elevated harmonies that touch listeners deeply.

Calla Domine is a woman of many talents. As a singer-songwriter, musician and producer, the prolific artist is quickly making a name for herself. Her blend of Americana, country, folk and pop is seductive and her empowering lyrics are important. The artist has opened for the likes of Tenille Townes, Hailey Whitters, Caroline Jones, Southall and among others. Take a listen to "Magenta" now and be considerate of others opinions.
