Asbury Park-based act Grasser unveil a glimpse of their sophomore LP You’re Welcome For Having Us, with layered anthem “Vapid/Dense,” which spans hip-hop and R&B beats alongside a booming rock feel.
The track is accompanied by crisp, cinematic visuals that taps into their unapologetic and unfiltered, DIY style which still simmers with a sense of mystery and fun.
Speaking of the visuals, they say, "Every time we set out to make a new music video with some grand artistic vision, we are quickly reminded of the $0 budget we are working with – therefore, we once again revert to just dicking off in one of our homes. We are forced to shoot, edit, and promote these things entirely independently. While that would be discouraging and monotonous for most, we find a new and interesting way to pull it off year after year. While a video like this is missing a throughline with a story, it is chock-full of our personalities, which is really all this project is about. We are in enough other bands who play the "game", aiming to keep a level of mystery and lore while still protecting an artistic vision – Which is why Grasser is a recording based project. It eases some of the stresses that come with selling your band as a product. This is just us! Unabashedly, unapologetically, unfiltered. Watching this video, or any of our videos, will give you a glimpse into the amount of fun we truly have when the 3 of us are in a room."
Brimming with diversity and innovation, the recording project of producer/singer Dana Yurcisin, lyricist/percussionist Biff Swenson, and multi-instrumentalist Nick Gianatiempo, have built a free-flowing artistry that feels hyper-active and natural, vintage and modern all at once.
With their latest offering, the trio gives us a peek into the kaleidoscopic and expansive album to come, set to explore everything from childhood trauma, familial rifts to romantic trials and triumphs.
