Jean Valery – "Drive me Crazy".
Jean Valery (of Blackwave fame) comes through with "Drive me Crazy", a rousing rock/pop/hip-hop infused jam. Over the pounding drum grooves, rich guitar riffs and pulsating basslines, Jean delivers a gripping performance with his distinct melodic-tinged flow and impassioned cadence. As the title suggests, it explores toxic love and how Jean keeps getting stuck in it for whatever reason. He admits that he did have good memories but the turbulent aspects were a bit too much to handle. For the visuals, Jean uses a throwback style and concept that harks back to the 90s. Viewers get to see a blend of performance shots, engaging storytelling and cinematic elements that tap into the emotions behind the song.
Jean Valery is now stepping into the spotlight with his solo project and "Drive me Crazy" is the first taste of what is to come. His solo project is scheduled for release in early 2025
Sam Blacky x Niniola – "Ronaldinho"
San Diego-born, LA-based DJ/producer Sam Blacky partners with Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer-songwriter Niniola for this enthralling afrohouse jam titled "Ronaldinho". The track is a mid-tempo cinematic piece comprised of sultry vocal runs, electrifying synth plucks with soaring pads layered over smooth drum grooves and Niniola's rich melodic performance. A solid dance number perfect for the coming summer festival and clubs around you. As for the visuals, viewers are catapulted into both artists' worlds, from the glimmering streets of LA to the eye-popping and colourful textures of the motherland and subtle motifs to boot. Saràh Phenom – "10%"
UK-based Rwanda-born singer/songwriter Saràh Phenom breaks her two-year hiatus with her latest single "10%". The track sees her collaborating with producers Guilty Beatz and TMXO, who lace her with a future electro-R&B/Afropop-infused backdrop. The track centers on the dynamics of being in a relationship and the never-ending turbulence that occurs when two parties can't get on the same wavelength. Drawing parallels to the energy levels in phone batteries and her mental bandwidth, Sarah takes us through the emotional twists and turns that come with love. The accompanying visual employs solid colour schemes and cinematic set pieces with a blend of performance shots and cut scenes that capture Sarah's girl next door and her confident aura. "10%" is lifted from Sarah's forthcoming EP.
Wyn Starks – "Run".
Billboard-charting pop-soul singer Wyn Starks drops his new "Run", a heartfelt and insightful piece that explores exploring one's true purpose in this short life. Armed with his rich and distinct expressive vocals, Wyn details the ups and downs of living in the moment and applying oneself. The visual is quite engaging and dives into the core theme of the song with a cinematic depiction of an epic cross-country adventure. We follow Wyn as he gets fired from his 9 to 5 to him outrunning different versions of himself. We see him completing several side quests until he finally finds peace right back where he started.
Cieratherapper – "Freestyle".
Cieratherapper attained virality earlier this year with her TikTok video and now she returns with "Freestyle", which helps reintroduce her to new fans. The Southern rapper embodies the spirit of the Southern boss lady who stands on business as she proceeds to lay down the law over a cinematic and dark trap soundscape. The visual is purely performance based with a myriad of visual effects to augment the fiery energy she brings to the screen.
Bryony Williams – "The Party".
Multi-talented indie-pop singer/songwriter/instrumentalist Bryony Williams is preparing for her debut album but in the meantime, she shares her new single "The Party" with its DIY-styled visuals. The track has a tinge of retro pop, Americana musical stylings with a touch of subtle rock grooves. Overall, it has playful overtones but its core theme is centred around existential crisis and the never-ending cycle of life repeating itself through human actions. Armed with her laidback, nonchalant vocal tones and rich melodic style, Bryony reminds us of reality and its brutality with a tinge of hope.
