London's rising artist Finn Doherty releases his debut EP, "if you’re bored of this city," a seven-track exploration of desire, self-destruction, and identity amidst urban chaos and personal relationships. Mixed and mastered by Lavar Bullard, the EP captures Finn's transitional phase through romance, introspection, and longing, further brought to life with six visually compelling music videos.
As Finn describes, "if you’re bored of this city" is about desire, self-destruction, and identity. Inspired by a relationship complicated by my own sexual identity, the EP chronicles a city of dreams turning into a city of nightmares, highlighting reckless behaviour and a longing for more."
The EP’s centerpiece, "Your Love Won’t Take Me Home," showcases Finn’s vulnerability. This intimate acoustic track captures the bittersweet realization of unrequited love. Reflecting on this, Finn says, "It’s the acceptance that some love remains unreciprocated. This song speaks directly to that feeling, embodying a sincere sentiment that nearly tore me apart."
Blending pop, indie, and electronic elements, tracks like "Call It Off," "Figure It Out," "KMU," and "Drop My Guard" reveal Finn’s adventurous side, addressing themes of lust, heartache, solitude, and sexuality. With "if you’re bored of this city," Finn Doherty emerges as a compelling, self-made artist ready to make his mark.
