Tamara Kramar delicately laces gentle bossa nova rhythms into a lightly experimental pop package on captivating single “Sunflower,” which weaves a cathartic narrative of an almost-love affair with tenderness. Summery and light yet tinged with melancholy, the track envelopes us in elegant layers of honey-soaked vocals that float over an intricate instrumental of piano, drums, bass and flute.
The third installment from her highly anticipated EP Make It Poetic, the track is expansive as it weaves through equal parts of infectious hooks and soft sonics to wrap up around us with a therapeutic touch.
Featuring German drummer Nicholas Stampf, London-based flautist Rūta Sīpola and the rest of Tamara’s band from Slovakia, this latest offering is yet another glimpse of Kramar’s evolution and her mastery of jazz-influenced soul-pop sounds as she sets up for much more to come.
