London-based Jamaican, French genre-bending singer/songwriter Hendrix Harris first popped up on our radar with the visuals for his single "Falcons No Ducks" and now he returns with "Fly". In a similar vein, Harris delivers another resounding ad soul-stirring piece that breaks the norm with its boisterous drum grooves, and atmospheric textures all underpinned by an emotion-fuelled performance.
The record explores the concept of expressing oneself without external judgment. Inspired by his feeling of being fetishized as a racially ambiguous child, Harris regains his autonomy by confronting his past fears, and trauma and using them to fuel his trajectory to success. Armed with his rich and commanding vocals, Harris leads audiences into his world as he charts the unbeaten path.
The song has a motif-driven visualizer that captures the artist running to an unknown destination. "Fly" is lifted from Hendrix Harris' forthcoming project Awakening.
