Brit rock outfit Electric Enemy delves into the search for validation on “The Right Thing,” taken from their forthcoming EP The Dark. Led by driving guitar riffs, powerful drums and frontman Jim Lawton’s potent vocals, the track showcases their signature genre-bending sonics spanning hard rock, grunge and pop.
Playing with layers of vocals to weave tender whispers with bold shouts, the track captures building frustration and the vulnerability of seeking acknowledgement for doing something good.
Relatable in its encapsulation of very unglamorous feeling of ‘‘I did something good,’’ and hoping for your deserved recognition for it, the track showcases the naive emotion set to be explored on the EP, rooted in adult/adolescent themes.
