Avara is ready to "duck & roll"

LA-based Indian-American R&B/soul artist and producer Avara first popped up on our radar a while back with her sultry self-produced single  "THESE SHEETS" and now she is back with a new release titled "duck & roll". Once again, Avara goes behind the boards and crafts a soul-stirring and dreamy soundscape made up of pulsating basslines, sparse drum grooves and ethereal pads with lush keys and slick guitar plucks underpinned by her sultry vocal runs and airy harmonies Here she gives us a glimpse into the bittersweet tale of two lovers and how their unseemly love for another dies out like the candle in the wind. Inspired by her childhood doing fire drills, she uses the move duck and roll as a metaphor for a love that consumed itself like a house on fire. Lines like "4 walls don’t work like they used to/It's what I'm used to/so complacent/it'd be solved if we could just talked" look at the situation from hindsight but unfortunately, it's only wishful thinking at this point.

"duck & roll" is taken from Avara's forthcoming debut EP which is scheduled for release at the end of March.
