Brighton's music scene is ablaze with the release of Abi Clements' debut EP, 'I'll Be Honest Boy.'
Influenced by the likes of Adele, Olivia Dean, and Lola Young, Abi masterfully blends raw emotion and infectious grooves. Teaming up with producer Poykin, bassist Junior Vieira-Dawes, and keyboardist Sam Wilson, her first singles, including the melancholic "See Straight" and the Amy Winehouse-esque "Get Go," set the stage for a diverse and dynamic EP.
The EP, featuring unreleased tracks like "I'll Be Honest Boy" and "Middle Name," unveils Abi's distinctive style, showcasing her soaring vocals and poignant lyricism. Born from the aftermath of a tumultuous breakup, each track reads like a personal diary entry, offering solace to those navigating similar emotions. Abi acknowledges the impact of challenging relationships, expressing gratitude to the "shitty boys" who fuelled her artistry.
Abi Clements has carved a niche with her heartfelt lyricism, and live performances at venues like Patterns in Brighton have solidified her status as an artist to watch.
