New York-based critically-acclaimed indie folk-pop singer-songwriter Lauren Minear unveils an enchanting glimpse of her forthcoming sophomore album, Chasing Daylight, with the title track as well as brand new single "The Sun."
While "Chasing Daylight," comes to life as a captivating anthem that ruminates on healing and moving forward in life, "The Sun," is an ethereal number which draws inspiration from a Grey's Anatomy scene and taps into finding true happiness within ourselves.
Rooted in her signature ability to unveil intimate themes at the core of vibrant sonics, the tracks are laden with relatable themes and a dose of wisdom, showcasing the enlightening core of the album which is set to be a colorful exploration of visibility and self-discovery.
Speaking of the album, Minear says,“When I was writing the album, I was going through the process of deciding to pursue music full-time rather than returning to my day job as a psychotherapist. I wanted to write an album that I would want my psychotherapy clients to hear, something that motivates people to keep going when they are going through a hard time. It’s what I would say to my own children, or to my inner child.”
Fuelled by her passion for mental health, Minear’s artistry captures the human experience in a comforting and affirming manner, weaving through difficult subjects with tenderness.
