European indie electronic outfit Close To Monday have released their first track of 2024, "First Class" which continues to define the emerging Euro-electronic rock outfit's dynamic signature sound.  The release is a brooding delivery of vocalist Ann's lyrics and songwriting built into a poignant composition by lead producer Alexander. Boasting character and personality, the latest single sets the stage for the duo to gain further prominence in 2024.

Close To Monday have continued to cultivate a devoted fan base with music that's topped the Dutch Alternative Charts. Previous singles such as “Religion (Slevin Remix)” and “Lie” have defined a distinctive signature sound reminiscent of New Order and Boy Harsher, while still maintaining a unique musical identity that is unmistakably their own.

"First Class," presents listeners with an exciting musical journey into a world of dark storytelling and electronic synth magic. Departing from the four on the floor style arrangement heard in their previous two singles, "First Class" embraces a slower, pulsating cinematic feel.

Sensorily stimulating, the song boasts swirling melodies intertwined with Ann’s mesmerizing vocals that take the listener into an atmosphere of mystery and intrigue. The lyrics unravel the tale of a hero entangled in the snares of his own ambitions, with complex, somewhat eerie synth arrangements amplifying the emotional twists and tragic facets of the character. Each note and melody serves as a poignant moment in the unfolding narrative, intentionally placed there by Close to Monday.

Since their start, Close To Monday has already achieved impressive milestones. Additionally, their music videos for songs such as “Guns” have won at international film festivals in London, Rome, and Paris. Close to Monday music is a guide for people who are on a journey, exploring themselves and the surrounding world. Each of the band's tracks communicate a 'photo of feelings' – a ready-made image, a situation reflecting their perception of things happening in the world and inside themselves, emotional experiences that are familiar to everyone.
