Uzbekistan-born, Melbourne/Naarm-raised vocalist, producer, and songwriter Rita Satch is as multi-talented as they come. As a finalist in the prestigious 2020 National Jazz Awards and more than a handful of live performances at Glastonbury and Cheltenham Jazz Festival (UK) amongst other prestigious events and collaborations, Rita has forged her path on her terms and continues to push her talents with the release of her new single "That Ain't Me". The single is the focus track from her forthcoming album to be released in 2024 and is a candid outlook on the effects of the daily grind and how it can throw us off-center. Bolstered by the rich and soulful production by Graeme Pogson (The Bamboos), Rita delivers a sultry and emotionally powerful performance ripe with heartfelt and relatable lyrics that dive into finding one's true self within the surmounting societal pressures. Relatable lines like "You wake up in the morning yet you feeling low/Can't get out of bed, I take it real slow/Working crazy hours, I got nothing to show/Cause they don't know it" show us the real struggles we all go through.
Overall, Rita's message is a much-needed call to action that encourages us to keep pushing forward and trust our inner voice.
"That Ain’t Me" by Rita Satch is a digital-only single released via Silk Throne Records and in 2024 her debut album will be released. Two tracks feature a 12-piece string ensemble, and the album is being mixed by Ben Kane (D’Angelo, Emily King) and Haima Marriott (Hiatus Kaiyote, Harvey Sutherland).
