Young rock n' roll singer/songwriter Peyton Gilliland has just unleashed her latest biting anthem. Called "Lipstick & Lithium”, the song is shared alongside a music video and is the highlight off of her just released EP of the same name.
With "Lipstick & Lithium”, Peyton writes a fun and ferocious track all about arrogance. She specifically narrates the story of a guy who has a massive ego. Flipping the script on him, she brings him back down to earth when she rejects him. Lyrics include "Looking like a cheap Jared Leto / You couldn't even handle my stilettos / One taste and you'll get addicted," show that she has the upper hand. Sonically, "Lipstick & Lithium” is a gritty rock tune filled with crunchy guitar riffs and unmistakable vocals. A sing-a-long worthy chorus shows Peyton's ability to craft biting lyrics packaged in irresistible melodies. The music video shows the artist in a variety of scenes from singing in front of a mirror to singing in a shower and at a punk rock club, showing all the sides of her.
Peyton Gillilan is one of the most exciting rising voices in rock music. The artist was a finalist in both the John Lennon International Songwriting Competition and the International Songwriting Competition and she has worked with well known producers including Lincoln Parish (Cage the Elephant), Brian Chirlo (Amy Winehouse, Paramore) and Mads (Imagine Dragons). Take a listen to "Lipstick & Lithium” now and put those haughty people in their place.
