Rochester hip-hop duo Young Black And Gifted made up of rapper Azariah and producer Kidd Called Quest make their way to EARMILK with their latest release titled "Day Ones". Over the solemn textures comprised of keys, dreamy sound design, and punchy drum grooves, Azariah takes us on an epic journey of what true friendship looks like between him and Kidd. He talks about their humble beginnings, the good and bad times, and how they fell out for a short period but got back together to make music that resonates deeply with their goals.
"Day Ones" serves as the latest release from Young Black And Gifted since 2021’s The Oath. However, the duo has been working on their individual projects which include Azariah’s recent release Phase III Blessed And Highly Favored (Produced by Laddie) and Kidd Called Quest's numerous productions for artists like Pretty Bulli, Curtis Coke, Jae Hussle and a recent EP with St. Paul MN emcee Ken-C entitled The Kendrick Cole EP.
